Great news!! The weather was kind to our contractor and the refurbished courts are ready to re-open from this weekend, Sat 7th Oct. The court booking system is ready to take bookings again and coaching with Richard Hopp will re-start in Graffham from Monday.
The courts are perfectly playable but would benefit from some rain to wash the fresh tarmac, which may pool or sit above the surface initially. This is perfectly normal for new tarmac but the courts have been built with a permeable surface. We have used match balls on the courts for you to use as our experience at Fernhurst shows balls (and strings) can dull from the new surface until it has weathered-in after a few weeks. It is also this reason that the courts will remain unpainted for several months and currently only have the white court lines painted. The full colour will be applied in the Spring.
Finally, I do hope you can join us on Saturday 14th Oct at 6pm for a celebratory drink and the prize giving of the club tournament winners, in the pavilion. The bar will be open for this infomal evening but we would welcome any plates of finger food/snacks to be brought and shared.
